Concrete Floor Repairs

An increasing amount of our work now involves concrete repair.

Often this is damage to joint arrises caused by years of heavy trafficking.  This is not only a health and safety issue but can also cause costly damage to forklift trucks.

Repairs are carried out by diamond saw cutting out defective areas and then repairing using epoxy resin mortars.  Joint details are then reinstated using polyurethane joint sealants.   We also carry out repairs in extreme cold conditions where we have products available that can be used at temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees

Sometimes concrete damage is more severe with the entire surfaces being heavily pitted and spalded.  Repair to this involves complete resurfacing using cement based liquid screeds.  This type of product has physical properties that enable it to be installed at very thin section – as little as 5mm, and in the correct conditions can cure to light foot trafficking within 3 hours.

Larger and deeper areas of concrete damage can be repaired using hand trowelled polymer modified screed.  This is similar to traditional screed but utilises a liquid polymer, and a higher ratio of sand cement. This improves the physical properties enabling installation at much thinner section.

In worst case examples where concrete is in irreparable condition we can arrange for complete removal and reinstatement.

Whatever the problem, you can rely on Duraflor to provide a cost effective solution.
